CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Staff Number of Vacancies 1 Position SummaryReporting to the Executive Director of the Collaborative Centre for Justice and Safety, the Business Analyst will support the research unit with business needs assessments, business workflows, process mapping, the gathering of business requirements, application identification, selection, and implementation of new systems or changes to existing systems. This position will support the RCMP PTSD study and the PSP PTSI project that may include systems such as Moodle, Qualtrics, Nview, Carre Hexoskin, and Apple technologies.The position’s primary functions are to:

• Develop and deliver training materials to be used by staff and study participants on the technical aspects of using software and hardware technologies.
• Prepare and maintain training materials and user manuals which may include a combination of Word, PowerPoint or PDF documents, outlining user processes.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to study participants in the use of the technologies, in person or remotely.
• Facilitate regular training sessions for study participants, incorporating feedback from project team and depot research unit into future sessions.
• Establish and maintain effective, collaborative, and professional relationships with research study stakeholders, including university staff, external entities and study participants.
• Serve as primary technical contact for external vendors in order to operate, configure, and deliver new functionality or enhancements to existing systems.
• Coordinate the configuration of user requirements.
• Explore options to deliver new functionality, identify and recommend system enhancements according to user requirements.
• Develop test case scenarios for the implementation of any new system or changes to existing systems:

o Participate in the testing as a super user, set up test accounts.o Perform end to end quality testing.o Coordinate and review in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.

• Analyze and design business process requirements for all study-related business, financial, and operations systems (Moodle, Qualtrics, Nview, Carre, Hexoskin, and Apple Technologies) critical to the research units’ projects.
• Prepare regular reporting, compile data on the following: end to end quality testing; help desk support required; and, number of surveys and assessments completed.
• Analysis of reports, provide recommendations to RCMP PTSD project and Principle Investigator.
• Coordinate small projects and maintenance updates.
• Elicit, analyze, specify and validate the business needs of the project stakeholders which may include researchers or administrative staff.
• Plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business processes using an established project management framework.
• Manage scope of the project in consultation with Project Manager and leadership team.

Position Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, or a related field combined with five years of progressive experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering customized training;
• Demonstrated ability to couple functional IT knowledge with business knowledge to ensure user expectations are properly understood and communicated;
• Possess and demonstrate a high level of analytical skills with the ability to understand complex and diverse business needs when dealing with internal and external stakeholders;
• Must have advanced analytic, problem solving and organizational skills;
• Experience testing systems and building test cases;
• Extensive proficiency in MS Office programs;
• Demonstrated superior attention to detail;
• Proven ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems, create a plan for solution implementation and lead a group through the required changes;
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal);
• Proven ability to successfully adapt to change;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, project based work environment and handle multiple, concurrent and competing priorities;
• Ability to work proactively and effectively under pressure to meet deadlines;
• Ability to work independent with minimal supervision and as part of a team environment; and,
• Experience in project management methodology will be considered an asset.

Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 4 Salary Range $60,172 - $81,196 annually Status Term Work HoursMonday – Friday 8:15am – 4:30pm.
