Job Description

Snake Lake Brewing Company, located in Sylvan Lake Alberta, is a brewery that sells beer locally through a Taproom and delivery, as well distribution throughout Alberta. Our Taproom has a capacity of 75 people (currently 40 ppl) as well as a patio that accommodates 35 people, open daily serving central Alberta since 2018.We are looking for a driven, motivated, self starter who can work independently, as well as follow direction and take good care in detail. This is a fulltime position that would be the welcoming face to each customer who walks into our facility.Job Summary:Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Tap Room ensuring compliance with regulationsand procedures related to safety, health standards and Snake Lake Brewing policies andprocedures. Orient, train and provide leadership and direction to Tap Room Team toaccomplish Snake Lake goals and objectives. Coordinate the acquisition of supplies,beverage items, book venues and coordinate events happening in the Tap Room. Work with team to update and maintain social media accounts and taproom/ event advertising (posters, newspaper, etc). Work shifts in taproom when managements duties are met for the week.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)Operations

• Plan and coordinate business activities with Sales Manager, including daily goals to

increase sales.

• Ensure the tap room, bar, counters, sinks, utensils, coolers, shelving and storage areas are

clean and comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and healthstandards always. Make recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of thekitchen/cooler area and its equipment.

• Keep on top of orders, inventory, availability, retail keg orders, and events.

• Work with tap room attendants in preparing for Tap Room events & Specials including live

music, large parties, private parties, monthly specials, food pairings etc.· Ensure proper content for upcoming events and bulletins are communicated with the social media team· Assist with keeping merchandise up to date and stocked up.

• Follow Proserve procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with

intoxicated guests.

• Break out tips each week for your team. Ensure accurate till counts are being done daily and that any problems are reported to the General Manager.

Inventory Management and Cost Control

• Monitor and maintain inventory for daily operations. Enforce operation standards for cost

control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.

• Estimate daily and weekly inventory requirements. Submit orders of all beverages and non-food

items, such as paper products, cleaning products, menus, pens, merchandise, etc.,ensuring all deliveries are checked in correctly and all packing slips/invoices are correct andproperly submitted to the General Manager.

• Minimize waste by ensuring all sales go through POS system properly and the Draft & Keg

Systems are always operating optimally .Productivity and Improvement

• Keep records of policies and procedures and current developments in local, provincial, and

federal laws applicable to the service of alcohol, safe food handling, health standards etc.Supervisory Responsibilities: The Tap Room Manager directly supervises all Tap Room staff. Supervisory responsibilitiesinclude training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work. Appraising performance.rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems that may arise.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to supervise, coach and train Tap Room team, to include organizing, prioritizing, and

scheduling work assignments.

• Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills to interact with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a professional manner.

• Possess the ability to multi-task and manage stressful circumstances associated with a fast-paced

work environment.

• Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.

• Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.

• Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.

• Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.

Equipment, Machines and Software Used: This position requires the regular use of a computer, printer, copier, telephone, scanner,calculator, cash register, fryer, dishwasher, iPad and POS system and related apps,smartphone and related software.Computer Software: Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time using repetitive motions throughout the workday.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and be able to move kegs which weigh

close to 130 pounds.

• Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine

operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detectand adjust for variance from proper operation.Environmental Conditions: While performing the duties of this position, the worker is exposed to inside environmentalconditions, extreme heat, potential for physical injury, exposure to hot fluids, pressurizedvessels and transfer lines, strong odors, chemicals, and unpleasant tasks such as handlinggarbage.Education and Experience:

• High School Degree or GED required

• At least 2 years related supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and

experience.

• 2 years prior experience in the beer, spirits, or beverage industry.

• Advanced knowledge of beer offerings (flavors, ingredients, etc.) in order to answer

questions from customers, as well as conduct tastings.Special Requirements:

• Ability to work a flexible schedule: days, nights and weekends.

• Must have own vehicle, valid Driver's License, current insurance coverage and clean driving

record.

• Current ProServe Certificate.

Reporting:

• This position reports directly to the General Manager and works in conjunction with the Sales Manager.
